War Map

Our aim is to make a big "wall war map" which contains some of the major strategic events, locations and battles of World War II.
It is up to you to make it look good, make it informative, add the information you think is needed!
You will work in pairs. Pick two consecutive events from the list below and research them with your partner. (PS, the list is not historically consecutive)

  • Every event / battle / location (see below) needs to be drawn in on the map.
  • Each event needs some additional - but brief - information. Write this on a separate coloured sheet, you can stick it on the map later.
  • Try to answer the "when, where, what, how, why, who" questions.
  • Make a clear heading on your sheet of paper. Use arrows, symbols, drawings, images or whatever you like. Add the year and the month of your event.
  • Keep it colour coded: Red = Axis powers, Blue = Allied powers, Green = Japanese
  • All Axis and Allied countries need to be coloured in.
  • Draw arrows to indicate movement of armies.
  • Most info can be found in your textbook.
  • Use these websites for additional info:
